Dubai Office: + In Review: Armani/Ristorante, Dubai The basics Address: Lobby Level, Armani Hotel Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, Burj Khalifa, Downtown Dubai Telephone: + /en/dine/ristorante A snapshot Armani/Ristorante has slowly been gaining a popularity as a bastion of revolutionary Italian food in Dubai. One of three restaurants within the Armani Hotel Dubai, it guarantees modern interpretations of classic dishes and traditional flavours, served with the most effective elements and by a few of Dubai’s best chefs. A little bit of background With Armani within the title, this resort restaurant has a lot to reside as much as, with many expecting the same concepts of glamour and luxurious as the excessive-finish fashion home. It doesn’t disappoint. We’re in awe before even walking through the door â€" situated within the Burj Khalifa, the restaurant boasts superb views of the long-lasting Dubai Fountain, providing the proper backdrop for the spectacular that’s about to return. When we ultimately make it to the restaurant, the staff are very welcoming and attentive, with the hostess chatting to our celebration as we’re shown to o ur desk and a chilly towel offered upon sitting down. We open the culinary adventure with an bottle of Laurent-Perrier Rose, as beneficial by the sommelier. Head Chef Alessandro Salvatico then came over to speak with our desk, offering an summary of the night’s choices. We decided to trust his judgement on the 5-course menu. The meals As with most traditional Italian eateries, we start with a choice of bread rolls (some filled with artichokes, others rolled in herbs and oil) and superbly aromatic olive oils. However, the true fun begins with an amuse bouche â€" a raviolo filled with Italian cheese, basil puree, tomatoes, breadcrumbs and an anchovy butter foam. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the flavours complemented one another perfectly, inflicting a couple of member of our celebration to say it was probably the greatest things they’d eaten that 12 months! The first course was a sashimi of kinds; finely cut raw salmon topped with varied baby greens and deliciously candy shrimps, accompanied by a small pastry crammed with sour cream and topped with caviar. This dish was a sight to behold, beautifully crafted by Chef Alessandro and his group, and paired expertly with a pinot grigio. We then moved onto a pasta dish of spinach tagliatelle with shrimps and a brown butter sauce. Once again, the pasta was completely al dente and though easy in its flavours, they worked together in excellent harmony. This was paired with an Italian white expertly chosen by the sommelier, who was pleased to reply any questions we had. For our third course, we had turbot, with green bean puree, herbs, radishes and really sweet orange tomatoes. The fish was cooked faultlessly, permitting the flavour of the turbot to essentially shine. This was paired with two half glasses of wine, an extremely aromatic chardonnay and a really gentle red wine. Steak soon adopted, with a meltingly tender cut served with seared foie gras. Not ones to repair something that’s not broken, this c ourse was accompanied by a full bodied pink wine. To finish off, we enjoyed the signature dessert course, a tasty mixture of mango, papaya, vanilla chantilly, passion cremeaux, coconut crumble and unique sorbet. The venue The décor is classically Armani minimalist, which is a pleasant change from the typical Dubai extravagance. Bright and up to date, it’s a clear-lined house dominated by outsized white leather banquettes and round tables. In summary All in all, it was a fantastic evening. Though we'd love to be egocentric and hold Armani/Ristorante all to ourselves, the work of Chef Alessandro and his staff is too good to stay hidden for lengthy. With a non-public dining room perfect for secluded and intimate gatherings, it’s the ideal spot for enterprise lunches, celebratory dinners and entertaining clients.
